Overview
The Cisco Webex application for desktop and mobile is a softphone application that allows users to place or receive calls over the internet. The password to access this application can be modified via the Business Portal. This article describes the process to accomplish this in two different scenarios:
- Administrator Modifying an Employee's Cisco Webex Password
- Employee modifying their Cisco Webex Password.
Prerequisites
- Company Administrator role or Employee role in the Business Portal.
Solution
Administrator

To access the customer's business portal:
- Log into the Business Portal.
- Navigate to the Companies section.
- Search for the customer by Company Name.
- Click on the Select option for the company in the results section.
Note: some customers have their own WHC instances. For example, Moriarty Law. In such cases, search for the admin access credentials on the CallStream shared drive \Supporting Documentation\ subfolders. In the Moriarty Law example, the credentials are in the text file located at the Z:\Supporting Documentation\C008049 - Moriarty Law Ltd\11. Projects\PRA000357 - Moriarty Law - WHC3 PBX Upgrade (Feb 2019).

- In the Business Portal, navigate to the Sites tab and select the correct site.
- Navigate to the Employees tab, locate the user that needs their application password reset, and click on Select.
- Go to Service Settings and click on the Service Passwords option.
- Select Application in the Password to Change dropdown.
- Input a new password taking into account the following rules and click on Change Password:
- The password must be at least 6 characters and not more than 60 characters.
- It must include at least 1 number, 1 uppercase alphanumeric character, 1 lowercase numeric character, and 1 non-alphanumeric character.
Employee
- Log in to the Business Portal.
- Go to the My Account tab.
- Select Application in the Password to Change dropdown.
- Input a new password taking into account the following rules:
- The password must be at least 6 characters and not more than 60 characters.
- It must include at least 1 number, 1 uppercase alphanumeric character, 1 lowercase numeric character, and 1 non-alphanumeric character.
- Click on Save.
Testing
Once the changes have been saved, the password for the employee to access Cisco Webex will be updated. To verify this, try signing in to the application with the new credentials.
